Don't Forget My Sermons

The central theme of The Gospel Rider Ministries is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is in-fact the central theme of all humanity. In no other is it said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." (John 14:6). Believe in Him or not, "As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God" (Romans 14:11).

It is a great honor to dedicate this web site to my savior, and pray that through this humble tool, many will grow in the grace and knowledge of our soon coming King. The scripture below best expresses my prayer for this website.

"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
    —   2 Peter 1:2-4

A Special Invitation through the Words of Jesus Himself

There is no better person to guide you through the most important decision of your life than by the One who made it all possible for you, the Lord Jesus Christ.

"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."   Matthew 18:11

"For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them."   Luke 9:56

"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul, or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul."   Matthew 16: 26

"Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."   Matthew 20:28

"Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit , he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh ; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee , Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth , and thou hearest the sound thereof , but canst not tell whence it cometh , and whither it goeth : so is every one that is born of the Spirit."   John 3:5-8

"If a man keep my saying , he shall never see death."   John 8:51

Why Must I be saved?

God leaves no doubt about our condition. While we set our standards of right and wrong by society's values, God's standard is His own holiness. How do we measure up? "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It is only fair that God demands holiness; that is how He first created mankind. We have rebelled against Him as a race and as individuals.

Our pathway away from God has brought its consequences. "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23a). The Bible compares sin to a cruel slave master. There is no mercy in suffering, no freedom from bondage, no lasting joy, no hope for the future. Most frightening is the final consequence of sin. The Bible warns that without God's salvation, death is the doorway to eternal punishment (Hebrews 9:27).

It is from this that we need to be saved. From our own sin. From its bondage. From its consequences. "How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?" (Hebrews 2:3).

How can I be saved?

God is holy and God is love. His holiness demands that our sin be punished in full. His love provides a way for us to be saved from this punishment. How is this possible? Someone was willing to suffer what we deserve. Our substitute had to be a sinless man, able to suffer the full wrath of God against our sin. The only one able to take our place was God's Son.

The greatest display of God's love unfolded as His Son left heaven to become a man. Born of a virgin two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus Christ lived with His creation. He was unable to sin, yet He showed compassion to sinners all around Him. Men hated Christ because His holiness exposed their sinfulness. They decided to remove Him by crucifying Him.

He willingly allowed them to nail Him to a cross of wood outside Jerusalem. They suspended Him so they could sit and watch Him die. The climax of God's plan of salvation had arrived as God covered the earth with darkness. The Bible tells us that for three hours He laid on His Son the full punishment we deserve to receive for our sin. The darkness was broken when Jesus Christ called out with a loud voice, "It is finished". He had accomplished the mighty work, God's great plan of salvation.

After three days in death, Christ Jesus rose from the dead. This is evidence to all who saw Him and to all who read God's word that Christ's suffering completely satisfied His father. He was victorious over death itself - the ultimate consequence of our sin.

God's plan of salvation brings us into the good of Christ's suffering, death, and victory. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly" (Romans 5:6). "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Death You can’t avoid it!

An old legend tells of a merchant in Baghdad who one day sent his servant to the market. Before very long, the servant came back, white and trembling, and in great agitation said to his master, "Down in the market place I was jostled by an old man in the crowd, and when I turned around, I saw it was Death that jostled me. He looked at me and made a threatening gesture. Master, please lend me your horse, for I must hasten away to avoid him. I will ride to Samarra and there I will hide, and Death will not find me." The merchant lent him his horse, and the servant galloped away in great haste.

Later, the merchant went down to the market place and saw Death standing in the crowd. He went over to him and asked, "Why did you make a threatening gesture at my servant?"

"That was not a threatening gesture," Death said. "I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I have an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."

"It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." Hebrews 9:27

Water always fills first the lowest places; The lower, the emptier a man lays before God, the speedier and fuller will be the inflow of the Divine Glory."   Andrew Murray

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."    — 2 Corinthians 3:18

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."    — John 15:4

How Deep Is Your Commitment

Progressive Growth

Whenever a new vision is presented to the trusting soul a new crisis is created for that soul, and the soul will either obey and march into larger life, or disobey and turn backward. The man or woman who has the largest, fullest knowledge of Christ is the man or woman who is most conscious that he or she has hardly yet begun to see His glory. The Holy Spirit... is forever unveiling to the eyes of faithful, watching souls the glory of Christ; and as each new glory is revealed it calls the soul to some new adventure, to some new sacrifice... to some new area of spiritual growth.

Every response to light means fuller understanding and enlarged capacity for further revelation. The true Christian life is a growth, which finds no maturity in this world; the ultimate is never reached in this land of shadows. There is no exhausting of the light and glory and beauty of Christ, and if He has not startled and shamed me recently it is because somewhere in the past I disobeyed and have lost my power to see. Sanctification is progressive, the Spirit of God patiently leading us from point to point in life of faith and light and love, and forevermore astonishing us with new unveilings of the glory of our Master.

For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).

By G. Campbell Morgan

"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;   And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;   In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:   In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."    — Ephesians 2:19-22

God’s Royal Insurance Policy

Being a servant of God has so many benefits that it truly is a royal insurance policy. God's royal insurance policy protects you from famine, disease and war (Psalms 33:19; 91:3, 5-7; 103:3; Proverbs 10:3). It will lead you out of all your troubles (Job 5:20-27; Proverbs 11:8; 12:13, 21). All things in life turn out for good for those who are the policy holders (Romans 8:28).

If someone came to your door and offered such a policy and you had faith in the company, it would be the easiest policy in the world to sell (Acts 2:40). This policy gives you wisdom just for the asking, spiritual power just for the asking, and answered prayer, when in accordance with the will of the policy (James 1:5; 1 John 3:22; John 9:31; 15:7, 16; 16:24; Matthew 21:22). It guarantees you nice things for your home, abundance, joy, peace and love, as Abraham had (John 10:10; 17:13; Genesis 24:1; 25:8). It guarantees you obedient children who do not go astray when they are older (Proverbs 22:6), when you follow the royal advice of Proverbs 29:15 and 17. It even guarantees you power to get wealth the right way, God's Way (Proverbs 10:22; 13:21).

God wants you to partake in this royal insurance policy, but you must remain faithful to the premium. Jesus Christ qualified you to be a policy holder regardless of your present condition, but you must not stay in your present condition. You must die to self and deny your old way of life daily (1 Corinthians 15:31; Luke 9:23). Instead, you must live Christ's new Way of life (Hebrews 10:20; Matthew 21:32). This is done by practicing righteousness, good deeds and good works to please and glorify the Father (1 John 2:29; Galatians 6:9; John 10:25, 32, 37-38; 14:12; Matthew 5:16). You must do all that you do and say in Christ's name as a happy slave of Christ (Colossians 3:17; Ephesians 6:6; Romans 6:18-19).

Overcome your nature by doing good, being zealous, persevering in good works and keeping Christ's deeds, which are all righteous, God's righteousness (1 Peter 3:13; Romans 12:21; 2:7; 10:3; Luke 21:19; Revelation 2:26; Proverbs 19:17). You must strive until God creates in you a new nature, establishes you, and puts your nature under your heel (Luke 13:24; Proverbs 22:9; 1 Peter 5:10; Hebrews 10:36; Romans 16:20).

Jesus Christ's Way is easy and pleasant (Matt. 11:30). Children would have no problem with it (Matthew 19:14; 18:4). But once you start, don't look back; just keep going straight forward into the good life, which is the godly life that God has been waiting for many to live (Luke 17:31; 1 Timothy 4:7; Ephesians 5:1; 1 Corinthians 11:1; Titus 1:1).
